communication minor
a minor in communication will supplement your major or professional degree by providing interdisciplinary perspectives to understand and interact with people and society. your minor advisor will guide you to select courses that form a common intellectual bond among your areas of interest.
transferrable skills emphasized in this department include critical thinking, problem solving, communication, teamwork, and research with human subjects.
all minors require a prerequisite introductory course, a course (or sequence) in research design and methods, four elective courses, and a capstone experience.

Requirements & Expectations
- minors must be declared by drop/add of the first semester of the last didactic year (u4 or p3)
- a maximum of 6 credits may overlap with your major or another minor (e.g., st 310 biostatistics)
- a maximum of 6 credits (with grade c or better) may be taken at another institution, with prior approval from the department chair.
- cumulative minor gpa of 2.0 is required to graduate with minor.
